#KeeleyCares: Pedal the Cause

Pedal the Cause is always one of our favorite events and this year was no different! The mission of Pedal the Cause mission is to provide critical funding for cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children’s Hospital through their annual cycling challenge. It is their hope that research funded by Pedal the Cause will ultimately lead to a cure for cancer. In 2019 alone, they have raised over $3,000,000!

On September 28 & 29, Keeley Companies had the honor of helping Pedal the Cause celebrate 10 years by sponsoring the Volunteer Tent. It was a blast getting to know all the volunteers that gave their time and talent to help this amazing organization.

Saturday, September 28 was the Ameren Kids Challenge and Taste the Cause! The Ameren Kids Challenge was a huge success with kids of all ages coming out to ride towards a world without cancer. We even had some of our Keeley'n kids participate! Taste the Cause brought everyone

together at the end of the day. Some amazing STL restaurants came out to provide food and drink to attendees before the Inspirational Program. Huge thanks to all of the restaurants that came out!

The Inspirational Program was the highlight of the night. We got to hear from incredible and inspiring survivors, those directly impacted by Pedal the Cause, and Pedal's founder, Bill Koman. They truly showed us that our efforts are worth it and are directly helping those in need. Along with live music and a fireworks show, we went into Sunday with a bang!

Sunday, September 29 was the main ride. Whether you were on a stationary bike and rode for an hour or rode on the trail for 100 miles, every single person gave something back to Pedal the Cause. It was an incredible feeling to see everyone's smiling faces, knowing that they were a part of helping find a cure for cancer.

Again, thank you so much to our Keeley'ns who supported this cause: 67 riders and 54 volunteers. That's over 1500 hours!
