#KeeleyCares 2019 Recap

By: Mary Sly

2019 was a record breaking year for #KeeleyCares! Last year, our amazing Keeley'ns donated over $1.7 million and gave more than 19,000 hours of their time - a new record!

Check out some of our favorite events from last year and learn more about how you can get involved in 2020:

Good Shepherd Dodgeball Tournament

Every year, #KeeleyCares participates in the Good Shepherd Dodgeball Tournament. This

tournament benefits Good Shepherd Children and Family Services, an amazing organization dedicated to "connecting children with families and keeping families connected." 2019's tournament was our best yet with 30+ teams participating and 17 of those teams being made up of Keeley'ns!

This is one of the most fun events during the year and we are so excited to plan and execute the 2020 tournament on March 6!

Clean Sweep

Every summer and fall, #KeeleyCares joins forces with Operation Clean Sweep, supported by Better Family Life, to rehabilitate and clean various communities around the St. Louis area. Volunteers from all across the Keeley

Companies give their time to help support this amazing initiative.

The needs of each community are different, but we bring our equipment, willingness, and enthusiasm to help meet these needs to the best of our ability. From demolishing dilapidated homes to removing trees and brush, no challenge is too large for our Keeleyn's! Even our 81-year-old founder, Larry Keeley, still comes out to support the cause.

Pedal the Cause

Pedal the Cause is an incredible organization that is near and dear to the hearts of many Keeley'ns. Their mission is to provide critical funding for cancer research at the Siteman Cancer Center and Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children's Hospital. This annual cycling challenge is their biggest fundraising event during the year!

On September 28 & 29, Keeley Companies had the incredible honor of helping Pedal the Cause celebrate 10 years by being the Volunteer Sponsor. The event would not be possible without the help of our dedicated volunteers, and we can not thank them enough for lending their hands and giving their time to make sure the event was an immense success.

Easterseals Midwest

In November, ZeroDay Technology Solutions and World Wide Technology teamed up for an amazing day of fun for the people of Easterseals Midwest. Easterseals Midwest is an incredible organization that offers a wide variety of services to help people with disabilities address life's challenges and achieve personal goals.

During this special day, different stations were set up for everyone to work together and create something fun. Whether it was painting a flower pot or using old t-shirts to make dog toys for Stray Rescue, everyone had beaming smiles on their faces. This is one of our favorite organizations to support and we are so lucky to be able to work together with our amazing local partners to host events like this.

Extra Life

On November 2, we took part in our 4th annual Extra Life Game Day! Extra Life is an organization that has raised over $50 million since 2008 in support of the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. The Children's Miracle Network Hospitals are providing critical care to children by raising funds and awareness for 170 hospitals and providing 32 million treatments each year across the U.S. and Canada.

During the Extra Life Game Day, thousands of gamers from around the world unite to play games in support of these hospitals. Over 200 people came together at our Keeley Companies headquarters for a day of fun and games, including a handmade mini golf course, arcade games, and more! During the 24-hour gaming marathon, our Keeley'ns and their families raised over $19,000!

Serving the Homeless

Every month, a group of Keeley'ns from across the Keeley Companies take time out of their busy day to volunteer and feed the homeless at the St. Patrick Center and Sts. Peter and Paul in downtown St. Louis. From preparing the food all the way to clean up, we always love taking this time to help and meet amazing new people.

The St. Patrick Center provides opportunities for self-sufficiency and dignity to people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Individuals and families build permanent, positive change in their lives through safe and affordable housing, sound mental and physical health, and employment and financial stability.

#KeeleyCares is at the foundation of everything we do and we cannot wait to see where 2020 take us and what new opportunities come our way!
