Six New Charities on Our Wall of Compassion!

2023 was another amazing year for #KeeleyCares! Our Keeley’ns donated 20,510 hours and over $2.5 million to charities and organizations across the nation. We are thrilled to add SIX of those organizations to our ever-growing Wall of Compassion!

Social Venture Partners

Part of the Regional Business Council, St. Louis Social Venture Partners invests in nonprofits in the region that serve youth from particularly distressed neighborhoods through education. In addition to funding, partners donate time and expertise to build capacity among the nonprofits, coaching leaders on things like board development, project management, marketing assistance, succession planning, and more. The “investees” receive funds, expertise, and talent to help them grow and ultimately help more youth in need.

Gene Slay’s Girls & Boys Club

The mission of Gene Slay’s Girls & Boys Club is to empower girls and boys to realize their physical, intellectual, and emotional potential. The youth served by Gene Slay’s Girls & Boys Club live in South St. Louis. Based on the high concentration of poverty in this area, they are at significant risk to suffer the long-term impact of unresolved trauma, including academic failure, drug & gang activity, and incarceration. More than 21,000 children and youth live in South St. Louis with little or nothing constructive for them to do after school or during the summer. Every year, Keeley participates in Civil Giving’s Annual Wiffle Ball Tournament, fielding 2-3 teams to raise funds for Gene Slay’s Girls & Boys Club! "Gene Slay’s Girls & Boys Club of St. Louis is a remarkable organization that plays a vital role in empowering young individuals in the St. Louis metropolitan area. The execution of their mission leads to countless afterschool and summer programs that impact our youth. These programs equip under-resourced and underserved youth with essential skills, helping them make good choices and achieve long-term stability and success."

-Brad Biderman, Project Director

Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank

The Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank was founded in 1982 by a group of community leaders who made a commitment to provide emergency food to neighbors in need. Today, the Food Bank provides food and essential items to hunger-relief partners, serving eight Northeast Ohio counties. These partners operate 600 food pantries, hot meal sites, shelters, children & senior programs, and other hunger-relief programs. The Keeley Heavy Industries team in Canton, Ohio has been generously donating their time and dollars to this deserving organization for many years. Click here to learn more.

Youth & Family Center

The Youth & Family Center in St. Louis strives to build connections one family at a time. The Youth & Family Center supports residents of St. Louis and parts of Illinois in achieving their full potential, driven by a vision that every youth, senior, and family has the necessary resources to live healthy, stable, and independent lives in a safe & vibrant community. Their programs educate, advocate, build skills, and support thousands of youth, families, and seniors by providing holistic resources, striving to meet evolving community needs. Keeley’ns look forward to Youth & Family Center events every year, volunteering their time at the Senior Prom (a luncheon and prom for senior citizens), Halloween party, Valentine’s Day lunch, and the Annual Color of Family Gala. You can feel the love the second you walk through the door. Click here to learn more about how you can get involved.

Siteman Cancer Center

Cancer touches everyone in some way and Keeley proudly supports the work of Siteman Cancer Center.  Keeley continuously supports Siteman through our long-standing partnership with Pedal the Cause. Each year, many Keeley’ns ride, volunteer, and participate in Pedal the Cause, spreading awareness and raising money in order to Create a World Without Cancer. This year, our very own Rusty Keeley and his wife, Julie, joined Carolyn Kindle as the lead ambassadors for Siteman’s annual Illumination Gala. We are proud to support their mission to prevent cancer in the community and transform cancer patient care through scientific discovery. Longmeadow Rescue Ranch

Longmeadow Rescue Ranch is the Humane Society of Missouri’s haven for hundreds of abused and neglected farm animals, serving as one of the most comprehensive horse and farm animal care and rehabilitation centers in the country. In addition to animal care, ranch staff provides hands-on humane education experiences for children and adults. For years, #KeeleyCares has spent an entire day at Longmeadow clearing brush, washing fences, cleaning animal stalls, and getting to know the sweet animals and compassionate staff. The ranch volunteer day is a Keeley’n favorite as families and kids get to come out and enjoy tractor rides, a visit from Twister the painting horse, and so much more! Learn more about Longmeadow Rescue Ranch and their animals here.
