Keeley Companies Partners with Sleep in Heavenly Peace to Build 100 Beds for Children in Need
Keeley Companies and #KeeleyCares were proud to partner with Sleep in Heavenly Peace to host a Build Day on Saturday, April 13 at their downtown headquarters. Volunteers from Keeley Companies, ADB Companies, Lowe's, and other organizations came together to build 100 beds for children in need across the St. Louis area. Keeley is proud to support Sleep in Heavenly Peace’s mission of ensuring that all children have a safe, comfortable place to lay their heads.
A Sleep in Heavenly Peace Build Day is a special experience and one that is open and welcome to all. Raw lumber, provided by Lowe’s as the event’s Material Sponsor, was used to build handmade beds for children currently without one. Volunteers, ages 12 and up, were welcome to participate in any part of the build process – no previous experience is required! Dedicated Sleep in Heavenly Peace volunteers taught participants about the different stages of the construction process and just experiencing the buzz, energy, and excitement of the day was incredibly rewarding.

I am so grateful that our team has embraced this opportunity to host a Build Day – it was an incredibly rewarding day that we will remember forever.”

Sleep in Heavenly Peace was founded in 2012, and since then, they have grown across the globe. With 326 chapters operating in 44 states & four countries and 276,270 volunteers, Sleep in Heavenly Peace has been able to deliver 140,583 beds to children in need. What began in a garage building one bed for a single family has turned into a movement driven by the vision that “No Kid Sleeps on the Floor in Our Town!”

Lowe’s has supported Sleep in Heavenly Peace across the nation since 2012, providing support from 14 different stores, discounts on tools and material, participation in 95% of all builds, and the use of five facilities for Build Days. As the Material Sponsor, Lowe’s will supply discounts on materials and bring in manual labor, caring hearts, and so much more.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a group of volunteers dedicated to finding those young children that do not have the luxury of sleeping on a bed or even laying their heads on a pillow. Through the wonderful efforts of volunteers and generous donations, beds are built, assembled, and delivered to those children who are otherwise sleeping on couches, blankets or even floors.
